Official HPG Team Feedback. Thank you for the well-written offer. Please see our comments and questions below.
General:
I was not aware that the Fire Department had no “Recruiting Officer.” This one position sounds like it may take many responsibilities from others who need to be focusing on other issues. From professional experience, I know that, if the right person is chosen for this position, he/she can make a tremendously positive impact on the community AND the Fire Department.

Outcomes Plan:
You might consider how this role will track recruiting efforts overall and in diversity hires. Also, any metrics relating to APS, CPS, and Family Justice Center POC connections.

Measures:
Need better metrics. You outlined great goals and expectations for this position/request, but didn’t put the effort into the metrics.

Missing performance measures data – I think there are several potentially good choices of measures for this BFO related to the specific functions – would like to see a performance measure connected with recruiting. With workforce demographic changes being a long-term goal would suggest a recruiting goal of engaging in a target number of appropriate recruiting activities likely to reach a diverse audience. In other words more details about the recruiting plan and a measure would be a welcome addition to this funding offer.

I think this is a great solution for problems listed. I know metrics are not established due to the position not in existence, but can more measures be created–i.e. assist invalid cases, new minority recruits, etc.?
